Karen, Registered Behaviour Analyst and founder of Ripple Effects Behaviour Consultation

About Karen

I’m Karen, a Registered Behaviour Analyst in Ontario and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 20 years of experience supporting children, youth and families.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside families to better understand their child’s individual needs, build meaningful skills and find practical strategies that fit everyday life.

I believe effective support begins with listening. Families know their children best, and my role is to bring professional knowledge, compassion and collaboration to that partnership.

My Approach

Behaviour support should feel collaborative, respectful and practical. I work with families to understand what is happening, why it may be happening, and what meaningful progress looks like for their child and their family.

Compassionate

Support begins with listening, understanding and respecting the experiences of each child and family.

Collaborative

Families are active partners in the process, with goals and strategies developed together rather than prescribed from a distance.

Practical

Recommendations are designed to make sense in everyday life and support meaningful change at home, at school and in the community.

Experience That Informs the Work

With over 20 years of experience supporting children, youth and families, I have had the opportunity to work across a wide range of needs, settings and stages of development.

Behaviour Consultation

Assessment and consultation focused on understanding what may be contributing to challenging situations and identifying meaningful ways forward.

Autism and Developmental Support

Individualized support for children and youth with autism, ADHD and other developmental differences, with an emphasis on communication, regulation, independence and participation.

Parent and Caregiver Coaching

Practical guidance that helps families better understand behaviour, respond with confidence and use strategies that fit naturally into everyday routines.

What Guides My Work

Every child and family brings their own strengths, priorities and experiences. My role is to listen, understand what matters most and work alongside families to develop support that is respectful, meaningful and realistic.

Respect

Children deserve to be heard, understood and supported in ways that honour who they are.

Partnership

Families bring invaluable knowledge about their child, and the best support is built together.

Meaningful Progress

Success should make a positive difference in everyday life, not simply look good on paper.
